You are here: Home / What is kinesiology?

Is this for me?

When it comes to our health, most of us want to be up to date and in the know about what’s good for us. Did you know your body may already know exactly what it needs for optimal wellbeing?  All you may need to do is ask.

What is Kinesiology?

Founded on Eastern medicine and Western understanding of anatomy and physiology, kinesiologist works with the principle that your body knows exactly what it needs to be healthy.

Kinesiology enables you to bypass your conscious mind to isolate causal factors in you subconscious. In other words, it lets your body do the talking, through muscle testing. The idea is that each muscle group is related to a body part: digestive system, nerves, organs etc. How the muscles respond to different tests reveal the body’s functioning and helps locate imbalances.

Can I claim for a rebate from my health fund service?

Select medical insurers do approve Kinesiology.  If you are unsure please check with your own Health Fund before booking a session.

Which conditions can’t kinesiology help?

Kinesiology does not treat or diagnose any medical conditions or named diseases, nor do kinesiologists prescribe. This is the domain of your medical doctor.

Its focus rather is on supporting the body energetically–so most people can benefit from kinesiology and other forms of natural therapy in some or many areas of their life.

What methods are used in kinesiology?

Kinesiology uses muscle testing to ask the body for feedback regarding its current state. Muscle testing allows the kinesiologist to find the most beneficial technique from a toolbox of structural, biochemical, emotional, vibrational and spiritual processes. Common balancing methods can include:

  • Tracing or massaging meridians
  • Gentle rubbing, holding or tapping acupressure points
  • Gem and flower essences
  • Strengthening systems with wholefood nutrition
  • Sound and tuning forks
  • Light and colour frequencie
  • Movement, breath work and physical releases
  • Belief system reframing
  • Clearing sabotage patterns
  • Relaxation and visualisation work

What can I expect during the first consultation?

In your first session, your practitioner will go through a detailed case history of the patterns in your life, including:

  • Previous health or illness history
  • Emotional and psychological history
  • Traumas
  • Surgeries and genetic patterns
  • Work
  • Family and relationships
  • Financial pressures
  • Spiritual practices
  • Relaxation time
  • Exercise and nutritional goals

This process provides a roadmap of where you are in your life and where you would rather be. Each session balances your energetic system towards an agreed and defined goal using required corrections from our energetic toolkit and ensuring al parts of your body system are working towards achieving your goal.

There will often be a list of home support for you to do between sessions and follow up work may be required as your life goals change.
